Program Description

Event Details

Join the Waukesha County Green Team for a conversation about Nature’s Best Hope by Doug Tallamy. If you haven't already read the book, our librarians are happy to help you obtain a copy to read before the discussion.

Book summary: Ever wonder what would happen if the self-sustaining local food webs on which we humans depend collapsed? To date, we’ve grassed, mowed, cleared, paved, and developed 95% of the lower 48 states. We’ve imported thousands of species of plants, insects, and diseases from other lands which have decimated many of our native plant communities on which these food webs and ultimately human food depend. The good news is that it is not too late for recovery. Nature's Best Hope shows how homeowners everywhere can turn their yards into conservation corridors that provide and protect wildlife habitats.

Registration is appreciated, but walk-ins are also welcome. This program is hosted by the Waukesha County Green Team.
